NAMAR recognized their 2009 Million Dollar Club Recipients at an awards ceremony held at the Gwinnett Center on March 18, 2010.
Almost 300 members were recognized for their achievement in the Million Dollar Club. Of those, 56 were first time recipients. The Top Producers were Maria Licata, Seema Jain, Mark Teytel, Cleveland Gaddis and Gale Eidelman for Residential Individual; Becky Loar, Page Plager, Barry Britt, Larissa Kirves-Benson and Douglas Ferguson for Residential Team; John Slappey, Tracie Shaw, Mark Ruzek, Maria DeLeon and Roy Leffew for New Homes.
Lt. Col. Rob "Waldo" Waldman gave an inspirational message on how we all need to use those around us to over come obstacles, adapt to change, serve your customer, and achieve success during adverse times. Just as a Fighter Pilot depends on his wingmen, real estate agents need to discover how to employ loyal wingmen to promote integrity and trust.
John Slappey of Peggy Slappey Properties was awarded the 2009 REALTOR® of the Year. John is a fourth generation REALTOR®. He currently serves as the 2010 President for NAMAR. Over the years, John has been very involved with RPAC and is also very involved at the state level..
Rookie of the Year was presented to Susan Craig of Re/Max Center in Suwanee. Susan began her real estate career in 2008 and had 17 transactions in 2009. She specializes in Foreclosures, Bank Owned and HUD Homes. She has lived in the Atlanta area for over 30 years and graduated from Georgia State University.
Captain of Industry is awarded to the REALTOR® with minimum of 10 years in Real Estate and is active in association activities, committee involvement and community service. This years Captain of Industry went to Dana Bauguss of RE/MAX Greater Atlanta. Dana has been a REALTOR® for more than 30 years and is currently the 2010 GAR President. Dana served on the NAMAR board from 1985 –2006 and was NAMAR President in 1989.
Terry Rathman of Worldly Concepts was awarded 2009 Affiliate of the Year. Terry started his television programming career with Turner Broadcasting Systems in 1992. In 1996, Terry left TBS and took a position with Direct TV as their area sales manager. In 2001, he founded Worldly Concepts which now provides homes automation and theater products, high speed Internet and Satellite TV. Terry serves a NAMAR’s Program Chair and is putting together some great events for NAMAR.
