Who Needs To Take It?
The National Association of REALTORS® requires that all members take Code of Ethics once they join a Board. The Code is what sets REALTORS® apart from other real estate professionals. When you take the Code of Ethics class, you are stating that you will follow a strict Code of Ethics promoting professionalism and an ethical real estate practice. NAMAR requires that all new members take a combined course of Orientation/Code of Ethics within 90 days of joining. If you joined NAMAR in 2009 or prior to 2009 and have not taken the Orientation/Code of Ethics course, you must take the class before the end of 2009 or you may be suspended.
NAMAR offers this class for $30. The class is from 9am to 3:15 pm every first Wednesday of the month (except July/September) at the Duluth location. Reservations are required. Classes fill up fast so it is a good idea to send in your registration form along with you application.
The National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) requires that you take this training every four years or within the quadrennial period. The current quadrennial period is 2009 - 2012. http://www.realtor.org/
. There is no charge for the online course. If you are transferring from another Board of REALTORS® , please send along with your application, a Letter of Good Standing or a Certificate showing that you have taken the Code of Ethics Course.
